Industry Standards and Experience
VHDL
I have knowledge in a large array of programming languages, all of which can be found on my resume. (contact me if you are interested) but I found that knowledge and application are two different things, and oftentimes the application of knowledge is what makes a skill important and valuable. For instance I used and learned about the virtual hardware description language, Verilog. I learned about it's structure, use cases, and common implementation, but it was not until I created a controller and a processor in Verilog that I truly understood the language and its applications.
LTSpice and Circuit Design
CIrcuit design is central to any electrical engineering role, and I have both built and simulated circuitry at various levels. I have already worked with digital design, and I have created both low pass and high pass filters in my lab. I will continue to add to this section as I take my final junior coursework.
Theory and Background
Until about midway through sophmore year, and to a lesser extent even up until the presentl, my education's focus has been on how and why things are the way they are. I learned about the mechanics of motion, both of physical masses and charges (charge is a property of matter, anyhow). How these effects break down at incredibly small scalses and incredibly high speeds (near the speed of information - light - itself!) How to leverage physical laws to create work, and how to emerge logic from basic bitwise operations. Theory is increedibly interesting to me, and engineering challenges in the future will rely heavily on theory.
